It seems like there’s a lot that’s being held back, not that I’m complaining. Aside from Hulk vs the Hulk Buster (more on that in a minute), there’s very little action aside from a few quick snippets. Seeing more of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, or more of the team in action would have been nice. No Vision either. Again, all fine, just impatience talking. A goal this time around was to make the team more global. That was readily apparent. James Spader was awesome as Ultron. His voice is perfect for the power crazed robot. The final shot of him was chilling. They’ve completely nailed his look and feel. It was odd that he didn’t have any effect on his voice initially.
There’s a quick shot of the team in the top of Stark Tower. I’m not sure who the woman in the blueish dress in the middle left is. Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders)? The icon posse of the fallen team, with Thor’s arm and a broken shield is glimpsed, only begging more questions. Of course the major set piece was Hulk vs the Hulk Buster. This looks to be an act two conflict.
Cap 2 proved Marvel is willing to make big, sweeping changes. I have a feeling this will end with a very different team and world than the one it began with. Either way, my excitement is palpable.
